Wine And Gold Weekly: Uptempo Offense May Save Cavs From Losing More Games

In what could be one of the most by far intriguing and more optimistic upcoming seasons in the history of Cleveland Cavaliers basketball, our patience will be tested and players that weren't given much of a chance to shine in past years might be able to showcase and succeed in a new offense in this edition of "Wine And Gold Weekly".

In the past 7 years, we as Cavaliers fans have grown to know the same old walk the ball up the court and at times see a fast break when we managed to get a turnover on defense to allow LeBum and the gang to finish strong at the rim. Cavs Wine & Gold Scrimmage Returns to The University of Akron

The University of Akron's Rhodes Arena will again be home to the Cavaliers Wine & Gold Scrimmage presented by FirstMerit, in association with the Akron Beacon Journal, Ohio.com, and WAKR Radio. The intra-squad scrimmage will be held on Friday, October 1st at 7:00 p.m. and is free to the public with an entrance voucher. Fans are invited to come early to enjoy the free Fan Fest outside Rhodes Arena starting at 5:00 p.m. The Wine & Gold Scrimmage will be the first opportunity for fans to see the Cavaliers on the court under the direction of new head coach Byron Scott.

Beginning Tuesday, September 7th, vouchers will be available, while supplies last, at all FirstMerit branches located in Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit and Wayne counties.
