2010 CSR NFL POWER RANKINGS

UPDATED AUGUST 11TH

 RK (LW)TEAMRECCOMMENT
1 (1)Saints13-3The oddsmakers in Vegas do not think they will repeat, as they are 12-1 to win the Super Bowl.  I like what they did last year, and have not lost many pieces over the off-season, so i will keep them at the top, until they slip up.
2 (2)Colts14-2The Colts have brought in some good players, but have to big-time playmakers returning from injury in Bob Sanders and Anthony Gonzalez, that make them the top favorites in Vegas.
3 (3)Vikings12-4Minnesota is only up this high if Brett Favre returns, because they have Adrian Peterson and a stellar defense, but they drop five or six spots without Favre.
4 (6)Cowboys11-5

Dallas is another team with great talent, but they have a lot to prove in big games, and they will play some this season.

5 (4)Patriots10-6New England struggled a bit on defense last season, as they brought in a lot of young players, but any team with Tom Brady and Bill Belichick is my favorite to win their division.
6 (7)Jets9-7The Jets defense is unbelievable, but they are having problems getting Darrelle Revis to come to camp.  He is holding out, and Mark Sanchez still has a lot to prove.
7 (8)Packers11-5

Aaron Rodgers play like a champion, and he has the team to make some noise in the playoffs.  They are young on defense, but have as much talent as anyone in the NFC.

8 (5)Chargers13-3

The Chargers have a lot of talent on their team, but for some reason, struggle to put it all together.

9 (9)Ravens9-7Baltimore improved with great drafting, as they always do, and added Anquan Boldin.  Joe Flacco is the real deal at quarterback, and their offense will match their defense this season.
10 (10)Bengals10-6Cinci is a very dangerous team, as Carson Palmer has more weapons than ever on offense, with the addition of Terrell Owens, and the defense is even better than last season, when they finished in the top-10.
11 (12)Falcons9-7Atlanta is going to have a bounce back season after underachieving a bit last year.  Michael Turner needs to find his frm, after a dissapointing season last year, and that will open things up for Matt Ryan and the passing game.
12 (13)Texans9-7Houston needs to finally start beating the teams that are in their division, in order to get into the playoffs.  They are my sleeper team to make a big run in the playoffs.
13 (14)49ers8-8It is going to be up to Alex Smith, with how far this team can go.  They have a great defense and running game, but need Smith to take them to the next level.
14 (11)Cardinals10-6

The Cardinals are hoping Matt Leinart can lead them back to the playoffs, but  they will lean on Beanie Wells and the running game more this year.

15 (15)Giants8-8

The Giants really fell off in the second half of last season, and will need their defense to improve if they want to get back into the playoffs.

16 (16)Eagles11-5Philly let Donovan McNabb go in a trade with their division rivals Washington, and I do not think that will be a good move for them.
17 (17)Bears7-9

The Bears have added some good players this past off-season, but wil need Jay Cutler and his recievers to have a good sean to carry the team.

18 (18)Steelers9-7

The Steelers will have trouble in a tough division, without Ben Roethlisberger during his suspension, but have enough talent surprise some people.

19 (22)Dolphins7-9Miami has a good team, but they play in a very tough division in the AFC East.
20 (26)Redskins4-12

The Redskins have a new coach in Mike Shanahan, and a new quarterback in Donovan McNabb.  They need to show us that they are not underachievers like they always have been.

21 (19)Panthers8-8Carolina will have a new young quarterback this season, and that should keep them out of the playoffs
22 (20)Titans8-8Vince Young is going to have to prove to everyone that he is the franchise quarterback that he has looked like at times.
23 (21)Broncos8-8I am not sure which direction this team is going, expecially after losing their best defender, Elvis Dumerville to injury.
24 (23)Browns5-11The Browns have done alot of things right this past off-season, and are looking strong in training camp.  The running game and defense will carry the team, but it will be up to Jake Delhomme to see how far they have come since last year.  Their defense is going to be much improved with some strong additions.
25 (24)Bills6-10Buffalo is one of those teams that you can not be sure about.  They have talent, but the quarterback is important to their success, whomever that may be.
26 (28)Chiefs4-12Kansas City keeps improving, and this might be the year they get back to 8-8, and respectability.
27 (25)Jaguars7-9The Jags are not sure what their identity, and I do not like their quarteback at all.
28 (29)Lions2-14The Lions are going to surprise some people this year, as Matt Stafford has a year of experience, and their defense is improved.
29 (27)Raiders5-11

Oakland has a good team, and a new quarterback in Jason Campbell.  If he plays well, this could be a surprise team in the AFC.

30 (30)Buccaneers3-13Josh Freeman gives the team some hope, and they got some nice players in the draft.  They will still struggle this year.
31 (31)Seahawks5-11

Seattle is going to need some time to get things together under new head coach Pete Carroll

32 (32)Rams1-15

The Rams have gotten their franchise quarterback in Sam Bradford, but they will go through some growing pains.
