Cleveland Cavaliers Weekly: Notes From Summer League

Welcome back everyone to the Cleveland Sports Report as I'm continously trying to keep everyone up to date with everything Cavaliers during the off-season. There really isn't a whole lot to report on for now other then select trade rumors and Kyrie injuring his hand.
I did catch the whole NBA Summer game with Cleveland playing the Bobcats. I was taking some notes. First off Waiters needs some help with his shooting from 15 feet but his agressiveness to the rim was impressive.
Tyler Zeller had a steller game at both ends of the floor with blocking shots, rebounding and both his inside and outside game.
I also took notice that Samuels slimmed down a bit which I think will benefit him this year. Thompson still struggles with his offensive game but seems to have a better feeling for where to be at for getting after rebounds. My biggest issue that I seen out of Tristan during the game was he has the ability, and this isn't a good thing, to find himself trapped with no where to go under the rim.
Now for all you Irving fans. Don't be worried. He will be back in time for training camp and my only problem with him being out now is he doesn't have a chance to develope chemistry with Waiters. I am one of the few who actually didn't oppose the idea of Irving playing in the Summer leaqgue with the new guys to develope chemistry. Of course I would never hear the end of it if Irving get's hurt to the point of missing the entire season.
Getting back to both Waiters and Zeller. They both showed the ability to get up and down the floor with no problem and there was even a situation where Waiters was leading a fast break and passed it to Zeller to throw the hammer down.
It doesn't matter what I see during the Summer league or pre-season, I'm still feeling that we are in need of 1 more great draft. When you lose the best player in the game it takes time to get back to where you were with him on your team.
We have so many more pieces to add and don't forget soon enough, I know it'll be a few years yet but yes I'm already thinking about if Kyrie when his contract year comes, will he resign or take his talents elsewhere? I know I'm jumping too far ahead but life happens so untill next week so long and GO CAVS!
