Browns Bites Weekly: Stability And A Great Divisional Record

I wanted to touch on some very important keys to building a championship contending team in the NFL in this edition of Browns bites weekly. First off how often do you see a team that doesn't have their stuff together and everyone not on the same page do a lot of winning? Well truth be told it doesn't happen and for good reason, when you have people that are only trying to make big money or are trying to individually fill up the stat sheets at every games end then you have what we call a "Team Cancer" or when players at any position don't know their role and don't know if their starting every week or not or if they are reserves.

The last several years the Cleveland Browns have had a circus show at the QB position and this has been going on for a long time with the like of couch and Holcomb and Anderson with Quinn and even throw Charlie Frye in the mix as well, however this is simple not the case this year as Jake Delhomme is the starting QB for the Browns and unless he is really bad or has a nasty injury then he will be the starter under center for every week which in return this let's everyone know that Wallace is our backup along with Ratliff and this also puts to rest any thoughts of seeing rookie QB Colt McCoy seeing as time this coming year.

Now onto another important factor and that being the need to have a good inner conference record and that obviously means winning in the AFC North against Pittsburgh, Baltimore and Cincinnati whether it be at home or on the road.  In order to be successful in this league you must be able to beat those divisional foes and not get swept.

Do you remember in 2007 when we had a chance to go to the playoffs and in week 16 Derek Anderson decided he wanted to throw 4 INT's in the jungle down in Cincy? Well that game right there took away our ability to control our own destiny and instead we left it in the hands of the Colts who didn't have to win another game and if you recall we ended up with 10 wins and NO PLAYOFFS!

So this year even if we beat the Steelers twice and split with the bengals and ravens I would be pretty happy about that. Well, we are oh so close, to training camp in beautiful Berea,Ohio and I can honestly say it won't get here soon enough! Until the next edition of Browns Bites.......GOOOO BROWNS WOOF! WOOF!
