Cavs Weekly Preview

March 1st vs New York Knicks

The "Is It Going to Be Jawad Williams or Leon Powe On the Playoff Roster" Week starts off with the 20-38 Knicks. I have to admit even though I wanted T-Mac on the Cavs, I'm glad we didn't do anything stupid to get him considering he instantly got hurt again. When healthy, T-Mac is a hands down top 10 player but his ligament-less body makes him more like Thabeet in terms of actual value which is close to zero.

The Cavs and Delonte West should have no problem winning all 4 games this week.

But the Cavs sans-Shaq means this game is going to get out of hand fast. The Knicks can only win by creating mismatches on the fast break. Shaq created that mismatch because he's so freaking slow in transition. Without Shaq, the Knicks will be playing a version of themselves that makes Donnie Walsh take a cold shower just thinking about having a team like that. And that's before telling Donnie they also play defense.

March 3rd @ New Jersey Nets

Hey Boston there is a difference between "being uninterested with the regular season" and getting stomped by the Nets.

March 5th vs Detroit Pistons

The top 3 unwatchable teams in order are: The Nets, Timberwolves, and Pistons. The Wizards are an extremely close 4th but I can talk myself into watching them incase tonight's the night Mike Miller turns into a vampire. But there is just no one I want to watch on the Pistons. Who am I supposed to get excited for? Jonas Jerebko? The Artists Formally Known As Richard Hamilton and Tayshaun Prince? Kwame Brown? The only good news is that it's a home game. The only thing more depressing than watching the Pistons is watching them at The Barelace.

March 6th @ Milwaukee Bucks

This is the one interesting game this week but mostly by default. They've been hot lately winning 12 of their last 15 but at the end of the day; they're still barely .500. I am interested to see how John Salmons fits with the Bucks plans because the move made semi-sense. The Bucks needed a spot up shooter who could also knock down 3's next to Brandon Jennings. I like Hakim Warrick but he's not a stretch 4 and plays the elbows so he doesn't fit the style. My only question is: Does Salmons make the Bucks really any better? I think the answer is a pretty clear "no".

Salmons isn't a starter but the Bucks will play him as one. When this happens, his numbers will drop to lower than they were when he came off the bench. It happens every time a team tries to make a bench player a starter. Just look how long Ben Gordon lasted as a starter in Detroit. It just doesn't work.

Other than that, there really isn't much to say this week. I mean it's the Knicks, Nots, Pistons, and Bucks. Man I can't wait until next week.
